Help
The questions people ask most. If yours is not here, email hello@nsibi.chat and a person will answer.
Can you read my messages?
No. Chats are end-to-end encrypted, which means they are locked on the sender’s phone and only unlocked on the recipient’s. Our servers carry the sealed version and hold no key that opens it.
I lost my phone. Can I get my chats back?
Only if you set up a backup and remember its passphrase. The backup is encrypted with a key that never leaves your device, so if the passphrase is gone we cannot recover it for you. That is the trade-off encryption makes: nobody else can read your history, including us.
Why does a call ask for local network access?
Calls connect your two phones as directly as possible, which gives better quality on a weak connection and uses less data. Finding the shortest route needs that permission. Decline it and calls still work, they just take a longer path.
What are coins, and can I get a refund?
Coins are used to send gifts during live streams. Creators receive earnings from gifts and can withdraw them. Coins are bought through the app store you installed from, so refunds follow that store’s policy, not ours.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: the You tab, then Account, then Delete account. It is permanent. Full instructions, and what is kept afterwards, are on the account deletion page.

Email hello@nsibi.chat. Tell us the phone you are using and roughly when the problem started, and skip anything you would not want written down: we cannot read your messages, and we do not want to.
